Your Personal Guide to Getting Around Madrid
I'm a 30-something from the U.S. who's lived in Madrid for the last decade (Spain for past 12 years) and I love to write and take pictures.
If you've been in Madrid for a while, you might know my website, Sarah la Viajera. If you're new, it's an online resource I’ve been very fortunate to grow and maintain for almost a decade and connect with lots of wonderful people who also love Spain.
I combined both of these passions into writing my first ever book in e-book/PDF, The Ultimate Guide to Madrid's Transportation Networks in June 2021. I'm currently working on the second edition that will include over 10 years of lived experience in the city, updated tips and info, more Spanish to English transportation vocabulary and "getting around" phrases you can use, plus, curated (printable) itineraries for both tourists and residents. It will tentatively be released this fall. When you purchase the first edition, you will get notified once the second edition comes out and how you can download it.
If you're here for the first time as a student, English teacher/teaching assistant or digital nomad, let my book be your personal tour or relocation guide to help you get your feet wet and explore the city around you.
It also includes my personal recommendations for places around town and safety tips for women and people of color.
If you no longer live in Madrid, but know someone who does, please share this with them and help them get adjusted. :)

Buen viaje and here's to not getting stuck on a Metro car with no AC! Until they turn the heat on, that is.
