We're Hiring - North Star English
North Star English is looking for an experienced English teacher to join our team on the outskirts of Madrid.
You'll be teaching a mix of ages — from our youngest learners (4 years old) right through to adults — with a particular focus on getting students exam-ready for Cambridge English (A2 to C1). Small class sizes, a well-resourced syllabus, and strong student and teacher retention make this (we think) a genuinely nice place to teach.
The role
Part-time to start: Mondays and Wednesdays, 16:00–21:00 (10 contact hours per week). There's the option to move up to full-time by adding Tuesdays and Thursdays, bringing you to 18 contact hours, for anyone who wants more. Fridays are always free.
For the 10-hour role, the contract covers 18 hours in total, factoring in planning and marking of exams.
Pay
€805 gross/month for 10 contact hours. This is reviewed after a 6-month probation period, rising to €860 on successful completion. Extra teaching hours, when available, are paid at an additional rate.
Where
Our academy in Morata de Tajuña — about a 25-minute bus ride from Pavones.
What we're looking for
- At least 3 years' English teaching experience
- Proven experience preparing students for Cambridge English exams (A2–C1)
- A recognised TEFL, CELTA, or TESOL qualification
- Legal right to work in Spain (NIE/DNI and Social Security number)
- Solid classroom management and planning skills
- Comfortable teaching a range of ages, including young learners and teens
- A professional, friendly, team-oriented approach
