Academic Director position at GNP Idiomas

GNP Idiomas language academy seeks Academic Director/ Head of Studies in Barrio Concepcion/ Arturo Soria. The role will begin training with the current Academic Director at the beginning of June. 

The academic director will be responsible for the academic management of the centre, ensuring teaching and learning objectives are met consistently to the highest possible standard. This involves a variety of duties which include, but not limited to:

Organise timetables/scheduling
Placement tests and assessment throughout the year
Implement and maintain academic procedures and admin
Deal with students personally regarding any enquiries or issues
Manage materials and resources
Provide training and professional development to teachers
Lead the team of teachers by example, and provide support
Give staff meetings
Manage teachers and monitoring their performance through observations


Person specification:

CELTA (DELTA desirable)
Teaching experience with all ages, levels, groups, individuals. 
Substantial experience with official exams; Cambridge, Trinity… 
Degree in education, languages or ELT related field
Masters in related field desirable
Cambridge examining experience
Experience of materials development
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Problem solving skills
Able to use GoogleDrive and all its features
Excellent administrative, IT, organisational and record keeping skills
Flexible and able to adapt quickly to change
EU national in possession of NIE and social security number in Spain. Applications which do not specify this will not be considered. 
Languages: Spanish, B2 English C2 or native. In the case that English is your second language, please submit your C2 certification with your application. 

Working hours:
Monday- Thursday 17.00-21.00 with the possibility of an additional 2 hours teaching from 13.00-15.00
Friday - 2 hours teaching from 17.30-19.30, plus 4 hours of Academic Director duties, time to be discussed.
