A CALL FOR MENTORS
The Fundación English-Speaking Union España provides participants in Spain with the interpersonal communications tools to achieve global opportunity. Through the medium of the English language, we train our students in debate and public speaking techniques and provide them with opportunities to travel and compete in international competitions. Participants gain the poise, logic and eloquence in order to promote themselves successfully at home and abroad.

We are currently hiring Mentors to facilitate our high school and university level programs for non-native English Speakers in Spain for the 2015-2016 academic year. Mentors are trained to give workshops on debate and public speaking technique, as well as to monitor and support the development of our participants (both students and their instructors).

Our mentors fulfill the following requirements:

Minimum Bachelors’ (US) or equivalent EU university degree, preferably with a concentration in Communications, Political Science, Philosophy, Dramatic Arts or any other analysis of the sciences or humanities
Native-level English language skills
A passion to provide the opportunity to individuals to explore their own and each others’ ideas
Experience in teaching debating or public speaking, experience in or a very strong affinity with wanting to learn how to teach these techniques
Understanding of the importance of debating and public speaking training to the development of any individual
Individuals whom have their own car and are able to drive will be compensated in addition to their workshop hours.

Becoming an ESU Mentor means that you will:

be working for a global charity with an expansive international network
be contributing to the development of communications and language training in Spain
be giving something back to the community
be trained on how to deliver our technique
further develop your own communication and teaching skills that are invaluable in any number of careers
Be compensated generously for your time, as well as the opportunity to develop professionally.
If you are interested in becoming an ESU Spain Mentor, please send your CV and a cover letter detailing your interest to mentors@esu-spain.es.
