HEAD of YOUNG LEARNERS and THEATRE PROGRAM

JOB TITLE:  Head of Young Learner and theatre program
BASED:  	South of Barcelona, Vilanova i La geltrú
SALARY:	21,000 euros per year
TERMS:	Full time contract
	       11,5 hrs teaching
12 months per year 1 month of holidays in summer, 10 days over Easter week and approx 2 weeks at christmas.

STARTING DATE:	1st October. 
                                   The role is open only to those with the right to work in the EU.


Global Connect is the creator of an innovative and empowering English language methodology that uses theatre as a language teaching tool. 

JOB PURPOSE:  Managing the day-to-day running, development and expansion of the Young Learner, theatre and speaking  program as well as  supporting the Global Connect management team. 

WHO WE ARE  LOOKING FOR:        
QUALIFICATIONS: 
The post holder should have at least four years teaching experience (post-CELTA) and hold a DELTA, DipTESOL or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
The post holder should have extensive experience of teaching YL classes and in managing teachers’ performance.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY:

Have a positive and proactive attitude
B2 level of Catalan or Spanish
Strong planning and management skills
Have the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise work in a changing environment - understanding that things change
Be highly energetic and dynamic with strong people skills
Is customer focussed and dedicates attention to our customers’ experience
Proven organisational and administrative skills
Good practical knowledge of word, excel, PowerPoint, and online learning platforms



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support and guide teachers in making their theatres performance ready. 
Provide team leadership, promoting teamwork and collaboration and a positive work environment.
Provide teacher support to Young Learner classes
Evaluation, development and improvement of the YL teachers and KidsSpeak programme 
Implementation and success of  KidsSpeak methodology.
Improve student experience and progress
Placement test and customer service
Teach, design course programs and develop learning materials.  
Provide effective delivery of teaching to own classes
Provide KidsSpeak induction and ongoing teacher training
The preparation and support of the Trinity exam candidates
Communicate student issues with families in person and over the phone.
