Native English & Experienced Teacher Classes for All Ages.

My name is Mairi and I am a 23 year-old Scottish student. I am from Glasgow and currently working on my bachelors degree in education at the University of Glasgow. I enjoy working with children and have always wanted to become a teacher.

I have decided to spend the summer in Madrid to work on my Spanish. 

My native languages is English.

When it comes to teaching experience, I have worked with in both formal and informal contexts.

As part of my university degree in education I have spent the last two years working in schools, both as the class teacher and teaching assistant. 

As the class teacher, I am charge of planning and implementing all the day-to-day activities, running the classroom and being responsible for the safety and wellbeing of more than twenty-four or more children at one time 

As a teaching assistant, I provide learning support for children between the ages of five and ten. I also organise and participate in indoor and outdoor activities: we sing, dance, play games, role play, draw, paint and narrate stories. 
 
For the last three years, I have been a nanny to two little girls. They are now aged three and five. This has been a great experience for me as i have been able to watch them grow and develop from babies to children.

Last summer, I spent one month volunteering in India. I worked at a day care centre, teaching pre-school aged children English. We also played games, songs and did arts and crafts. I also spent time working at a community project for deprived children who do not have the opportunity to attend school. These children were aged twelve to eighteen. We taught them basic English and also did some fun activities too. In the evening we spent time at a boys orphanage. We mostly organised actives and games. This was an amazing experience for me, working with the children but also travelling to India. 

I am a fun, lively and engaging person. I love spending time with children and playing all sorts of different games. I enjoy creative activities, that are fun but also educational.
