Conversation Assistant

CAPS is recruiting dynamic and creative native English speakers to work as a Conversation Assistant (CA) in Spain. Successful candidates will be working in a Spanish school for 25 classroom hours per week with students ranging from 3-18 years old.
The position starts on the 29th of September 2017 until the 23rd of June 2018. The CA is paid a monthly grant payment of 915€ and is enrolled in a free 150 hour TEFL course provided by a Spanish University (if you already hold a TEFL advanced courses are offered).

Below is a list of some typical responsibilities of a CA: 
-Conversation practice
-Assist in a whole class along with the main teacher and carry out speaking tasks individually, in pairs or with groups of up to 15 students
-Assist with the preparation of classes or prepare complementary material and also help with the preparation (not marking) of oral examinations such as Cambridge (PET), (KET), etc.
-Help in other subjects apart from English such as Science, Art, Sports, Theatre, I.T, etc.
-Explain the culture and traditions of CA’s own country
-Speaking practice with teachers helping the teachers of the school improve their oral English skills
-Extra-Curricular Activities: spend a maximum of 2 hours (included in your 25 teaching hours) assisting with or running extra-curricular activities
Applicant Requirements 
-Native English speakers (with EU passport or currently in Spain on a student visa
-Ready to start on 29th September
-No criminal convictions
-Enthusiasm for working with children
-Commitment to give their all during the full programme
-Graduate who meet at least one of the following requirements: 
 · Studied Education, Psychology or Linguistics + experience in an educational setting.
 · Studied another subject + TEFL certificate (or similar) + experience in an educational setting
 · Studied another subject + ideally 1 year’s experience in an educational setting (please note that less experience may be considered depending on previous role and responsibilities)
